18 Months!

It is so hard to believe that Matthew is 18 months old. In just 6 short months, he will be 2. I feel as if he was born yesterday. He has brought to much joy to our lives and he is such a little ham. We love him to pieces!

He is still pretty small. He weigh about 23 lbs, but we will know for sure next week. Unfortunately, he remains a horrible sleeper. Bad habits were created and they are getting awfully hard to break. We are working on it though. He is super eater. Apparently, whatever isn't finished by the other kids at the babysitter, Matthew finishes.

He is into everything, and I mean everything. You can't turn your back on him for a second. He is also a monkey and will climb anything. He manages to get out of buckles in high chairs or shopping carts.

He loves to give High Fives and he loves to wave "bye". He raises his right hand way above his head and turns his wrist a little..it is so cute. He gives great hugs and kisses. He loves, loves, loves Elmo (or Melmo as he says it).

He is at a completely different place verbally that Maya was at this age...behind, but his doctor isn't concerned. He certainly understands anything you say to him and he will follow 1 and 2 step directions. We still get a lot of pointing and grunting., but slowly the words are coming.

I have a short list of the words that Matthew says consistently, but there are many more words that he has said, but not all the time.
