First Day of School!

Maya started Valley Nursery School today. We were going to skip the nursery school experience, but after talking it over and noticing some things, we felt it may be a good thing. Maya can be quite shy in new situations, so being with a group of 15 other kids, we thought may help her get used to bigger groups. As a teacher, I also wanted her to get used to a school routine before she is completely thrown into it in the fall when she starts kindergarten.

She was beyond excited and she could barely sleep last night. She was thrilled to have a backpack and we have made a big deal that it is her responsibility to make sure she has it on school days.

Scott picked her up from Meg's house and then they picked me up at school. I was able to bring her because it was my lunch. Maya couldn't wait to get into school, but once we walked in, you could see the nervousness on her face. She was a big, brave girl and she did not shed a tear..mommy did tear up though.

We picked her up and she had a huge smile on her face and was so excited about the hat that she made. She cannot wait until Wednesday to go back!
